What an honor it was to speak producer guru Gordon Raphael today! Our full discussion is up on YouTube now, but I wanted to talk about a few of my very favorite topics on here! Gordon explained a lot about his process as a producer, from how he interacts with the artists to how he handles each track and works through any bumps. While two of his bigger projects were both The Strokes albums, he spent time in the studio with other wonderful artists like Regina Spektor and The Libertines. He was in New York during 9/11 and told me how that effected the Strokes' first album, resulting in the loss of New York City Cops, and where he was when he first heard the news. Overall, it was a wonderful experience chatting with Gordon, and I hope someday we can talk again!
